| | Before you start!
There are some important issues you need to take into account before
you start and improve your ICQCore.dll file.

We are not trying to scare you but just to make you aware of what can happen
if the wrong person gets access to your ICQCore.dll file. It is not all that
hard to use the ResourceHacker program. And you don't even need to do all the
dialogs. On the versions of ICQ 2000a/b we checked, the Received and Send Message
dialogs have numbers 2503 and 2566. Feel free to
leave a list of the ones you found, and we'll put it on the Dialog Numbers page.

Step 1: Downloading the Resource Hacker The ICQCore.dll file differs for each version/build of ICQ. Do not use
one somebody else improved unless you have verified that their version/build
of ICQ is identical to yours.

Don't download a version of ICQCore.dll from the net unless you are sure
it is legit. As less than honest people can change other values in there. For
example null and void your authorization so they can add themselves to your list easily.

If you don't feel you are up to this, find somebody with enough knowledge
to do this for you. But make sure it is somebody you can trust.

If you haven't already, you will need to download and install

Angus Johnson's excellent Resource Hacker tool. Use your favorite UnZip tool to extract
the files into a directory. Then run the reshacker.exe program. If you can't find
this program use the Window's File Find utility to look for it. See the discussion of
finding your ICQ Directory in our SMS Banner guide. And replace
icq.exe with reshacker.exe. When found, just double click on it to start
  the program

Be sure to stop the ICQ program before proceeding as otherwise you will
not be able to access the files needed.
